Winter

I'm not sure why it is that I love winter so much. I used to hate. I was always cold and therefore, it wasn't fun.

One winter, in the early 1990s, a group of friends, their young children and my family decided to play hockey at an outdoor rink, every Sunday afternoon. Before I knew it winter was over and I missed it tremendously.

At the close of winter the year I began dogsledding, I remember sobbing into my supper on the day that I put my sled away.

If you have followed my blogging history, you may have noticed that I get quite silent in the non-winter months. There just doesn't seem to be so much to share. Summer is summer, and we all live it and love it. What can I tell you about summer that you don't already know and love.

But winter... Winter is the gift that is hidden at the back corner of the Christmas and may go unnoticed until the day is over and everyone has gone home. It may get put away and forgotten for an entire year and no one will know what they missed.

We live on the earth for such a short time. It is a total waste to spend 6 months of the year confined to a small indoor space when the entire world is waiting to be explored.

Get the right clothes and if you don't they what they are, ask around, or ask me, because it's a pity to spend half your existence hiding life away in the box of Christmas ornaments.

I LOVE My Winters.......I'm so excited to be waiting for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and we are planning on hitting the slopes again this year. And for the first time ever, we are going to try tubing.....
