I Love The Stage

I don't think that I have mentioned the play.

After many years absence, I audition auditioned back in September for a part in the play "Anne of Green Gables", produced by TryLight Theatre Company. I was given a small part. Now, I have always said that I wouldn't do a small part. I have acted in many productions and when one considers the time involved, a small part just was never worth the time involved.

Regardless, I'd been absent from the theatre scene for years and so was pleased with the two stage scenes and 12 lines that I had as Mrs. Allen. It was a nice way to get back into the acting scene and to find out if my, much older brain, was able to memorize lines.

Up until opening night, I had decided that I wasn't going to do any more theatre after this production.  Then I got on stage…

Yeah, I love it. It was great. I love the people I performed with, I loved the costumes and I loves the heat of the lights and the dark void where the unseen audience is.

Next fall, I'll be auditioning again and I'm going for a bigger part. The brain is just going to have to step up to the plate.

Having said that… back stage can be boring after seven productions.
