I used to say I was the champion of the opening paragraph. I've started so many books that if there were a market for nothing but opening paragraphs, I'd be world renowned.
Once I managed to research and write 52 pages of a non-fiction book on the history of women's spirituality. In the end I learned so much that decided I didn't believe in my original premise. That particular work has a special place on my hard drive.
Of course, I did successfully complete "Who Has Time For A Novel; 365 1/2 Short Stories" and I am researching what my options are for that material.
Today, though was a special day, because I read a woman's blog, in which she specifically reviewed some the material that I wrote for "Tokii Couples". Even though my name isn't mentioned in the review, and what she is really reviewing is my material on the site, it's a special thrill to know that after all the words that I have written and spoken, someone is treating them with value.
Very cool. Go check out her blog, Mommy Travels, while I go back to patting myself on the back.

Good for you!
comments are working for you again, I see.
Thanks, btw
That is real evidence that your work is important.
I've also gotta comment on the left hand writing in that photo (having also grown up with a left-handed mother who was made to write with the other hand in school!).
I'm a lefty and PROUD OF IT!.....lol
Good Job Susan. You really are going to hurt yourself one of these day, stop twisting to pat yourself on the back.
Exciting!!! I'm anxious to hear how the progress goes with your year of short stories. They were all great, some were absolutely brilliant!
The one that stands out the very most in my mind is the lady in the burka.
