Feeling Rather Proud

You might have to click on the image to see this, but I'm am very proud.

I purchased my Browning blr .270wsm last Thursday. It has open sights, as I didn't have the money to buy a scope too.

It needed to be sighted. I asked for advice on how to do this. I also downloaded the manual for the gun and printed out the directions.

Today, I went to the gravel pit and set up this target.

I was 40 paces away and the inch circle of pink nail polish in the centre of the bulls eye was almost invisible.

As I can't find my binoculars, so I had to walk to it after each shot. It took a total of 8 shots to get it right.

The three in the target were the final four shots (I messed up and turned the screw the wrong way for shot #6 and that was way off). The final shot being the tiny hole just to the upper right of the nail polish.

I'm feeling rather proud, that I was able to do this. My should is a little tender, but I still had time to do a little watching for deer before I had to come home. I didn't see any though. I was a little relieved because I will have to dress it, haul and hang all immediately after shooting it and today I didn't really have time to process all that I have been told about doing that.
